Edouard Guerin

_DSC9220.jpgEdouard Guérin was born on 1st March, 1983 in Orange.  During the high school years, he intended to study notary for a while but he quickly changed his mind, because there was another confusion waiting for him. He was torn between the Forest Engineering and Winemaking (Oenology) but eventually he decided to be a winemaker. After he studied in Lycée du Parc, ENSAIA, Agro Montpellier, Faculté de Pharmacie de Montpellier; he started to put into practice his certificated knowledge in oenology. For internship, he worked with Frédéric MAILLET at Domaine de la Genestière, with consultant Noël RABOT and also with Stéphane LEBOUCHER at Vignobles Jean-Louis TROCARD, with famous consultant Gilles PAUQUET. As he became familiar with the smell of the cellars, and winemaking more, he thought that it was a perfect decision for him to be a winemaker.

After this critical point of his winemaking life, he started to look for a job all over the world. He heard that Turasan Winery was looking for an oenologist (winemaker). He decided to live and make wines in Turkey which is an old wine producing country. Turasan's long established being also inspired him to make wine in Turkey.
He says that every single morning he enters the winery; he takes a deep breath and revels in the smells with a mix of memories and passion. During the whole working day he is accompanied by the smells of the oaks and fruits.
